The scholarships are open to all qualified African candidates residing in Africa at the time of application to be trained in the host institutions for respective programs in Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa.
Note: Applicants are only allowed to apply to study in an institution outside of their home country. Female and disadvantaged/vulnerable candidates are encouraged to apply. All applications will be handled confidentially.
There are two targets under the scholarship application which are target group 1 (TG 1) and target group 2 (TG 2).
Target Group 1
These are applicants who are nationals of one of the consortium member universities. It include the following countries:
- Tanzania
- Ethiopia
- South Africa
- Ghana
- Nigeria
- Zimbabwe
Partner Universities from these countries will host students from other countries (Target Group 1 and Target Group 2) and send their students to other members universities
Target Group 2
These are applicants from countries in Africa who are not member of the consortium countries univerisities. These are students expected to come from other universities outside the hosting institutions and from sub-Saharan Africa non-partner university country. Only students from countries listed under target group 2 are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Countries which are not listed are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.Countries which fall under target group 2 are:
- Democratic Republic Congo
- Eritrea
- Kenya
- Somalia
- Sudan
- Guinea
- Benin
- Senegal
- Chad
- Burkina Faso
- Zambia
- Botswana
- Mozambique
Note: Applicants are only allowed to apply to study in an institution outside their home country. Female applicants and people with disablity re encouraged to apply.
There is additional funds for people with disability apart from the scholarship funds to cover their study needs.
